Jeff Edwards is the process safety manager for CPChem. He is responsible for process safety excellence at CPChem’s facilities and operations around the world. His department governs the processes that control process safety risk for the enterprise. His teams developed a human performance program for the company, enhanced frontline risk management processes, developed standardized scenarios for PHA processes, and shared learnings from high potential incidents. During Jeff’s tenure, the company met its PSM performance targets each year.

Previously, Jeff served as Operations manager for the Port Arthur facility where his department of 125 employees produced more than 10 MM pounds of product daily. Prior to Port Arthur, he held various operations leadership assignments at the Sweeny Facility, one of the company’s largest plants. In his operations roles, he was responsible for the safe and reliable operation of each facility where he worked.

Prior to joining CPChem, Jeff worked at Lyondell Chemical Company. He held various operations and business assignments and participated on the supply chain merger and acquisition team during the creation of Equistar Chemicals.

Jeff serves on the Leadership Board for the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston. He also serves as a Director of the Ethylene Producer’s Committee of the chemical industry.

He and his wife have three sons. They enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, traveling and boating.

Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from The University of Arkansas and a master’s degree in business administration from The University of Houston.
